Julia Williams, UK
Move and Flow with Tripudio Movement Systems
Julia is a tutor and therapist specializing in clinical aromatherapy, reflexology and MLD with 25 years’ experience working with cancer and palliative care, both within the NHS and private practice. A yoga teacher and dancer, with a special interest in the lymphatic system Julia also offered simple movement to her patients and clients to assist them on their road to recovery, or for greater comfort towards end of life.
In 2011 Julia became co-founder of Tripudio Movement Systems, a movement programme incorporating lymphatic drainage and fascia release providing a safe choice of exercise for those where the gym is not suitable. Julia trains nurses, therapists, physios and more in order to provide exercise and informed advice to their clients and patients and expand their scope of care. Julia provides training in the UK and to specialist groups.
During the Botanica conference Julia will be delivering some specially formatted Tripudio classes for delegates, she will introduce you to the Tripudio Flow, a lymphatic flow sequence incorporating the breath of joy, give you an insight into how a class flows and demonstrate how it can be adaptable and beneficial to everyone, whether fit or in need of a more gentle class. The sequences are designed to stretch and mobilize our whole body, using all our small joints and not repeating the same movements.
Tripudio classes generally use both seated and standing routines, incorporate stretching, strengthening, mobilizing and also having fun! Music is used and creates a relaxed atmosphere, we focus on the lymphatic system and fascia in simple effective routines. The flow sequence would start and finish a class, it takes about 6-8 minutes and ideal for daily practice.
Class participants often use the same phrases “ I feel relaxed but energised”, “It’s so simple but effective, I feel as if I’ve used every part of my body in a good way”. Tripudio movement training is available to therapists and health professionals without an exercise background, it’s a wonderful way to give more holistic care to your patients and clients, whether 1:1 or in class or groups enabling them to help themselves.
Training is available in the UK and through invitation, there will be opportunity to real-time chat with Julia throughout virtual Botanica2020.
