Project Bonistra: Connecting small producers and distillers in the Istrian peninsula

Jana is owner of a farm in Slovenia. For the past 4 years Jana has been cultivating and producing herbs, spices, essential oils and hydrolats from a range of plants that are indigenous to the Istrian area including lavender, immortelle, yarrow and myrtle. Project Bonistra also supports the efforts to preserve the cultural heritage of indigenous herbs, incites interest in growing herbs and provides professional education in the process of steam distillation. Jana Bergant has a project of connecting small producers of the Istrian peninsula (Slovenian, Croatian and Italian) so that they may benefit from a joint market presence under one brand name.
